Company founder, networker, mentor, know-how carrier, industry expert, futurist. Josef Femböck – known, active and successful in the vehicle testing industry for over 45 years!

As a self-taught radio and television technician, he already celebrated his first great successes in the 1970s at the company Cartec GmbH in Unterneukirchen, today Snap-on Equipment GmbH. The first microcontroller-controlled, network-capable brake tester was far ahead of its time.

The next big step in 1988 was the foundation of INES Elektronik GmbH based in Mühldorf a. Inn, which later became part of Beissbarth GmbH and was mainly engaged in the development and production of system solutions in the field of measurement and control technology. In the following years Josef Femböck founded further companies, among others Sherpa Autodiagnostik GmbH, which is still very successfull in the vehicle test equipment sector.

With the founding of Cartesy GmbH in 2006, Josef Femböck set up his (for the time being) last “big thing” together with the Micro-Epsilon Group and laid the foundations for a successful company and the next generation.

In June 2021, Dimitri Grübel already came to Josef Femböck’s side as his successor as Managing Director to take care of the successful further development of Cartesy together with him.

Now Josef Femböck is taking another step – with incision.

“The time is ripe to hand over the second rudder as well and to retire slowly but surely from the active business”, says Josef Femböck.

As of 01.08.2022, Maximilian Femböck was appointed as second managing director and will take over the management together with Dimitri Grübel in the future. Josef Femböck left as managing director of Cartesy GmbH on 01.08.2022.

“I am very proud of the entire team, the company, the management team our products and successes. I am sure Cartesy will continue to have a successful path ahead of it and will continue to inspire customers. The management team has been with us for many years and has had the time to grow with the company and the responsibility. I put all my trust in their ability. Almost too fast the time has passed and so it is a big step for me, which is nevertheless very emotional and drastic in my era.

It is time for the new generation to write its own history, to celebrate successes and to make mistakes. In any case, I will still be happy to be a co-driver, to give advice and support.”

The coming phase of his life bears a different name, but Josef Femböck will remain closely connected to Cartesy as shareholder and will support the new generation in the background.

“Those who know me know that I am very enthusiastic about technology and therefore I will continue to research and develop solutions.”
